Terms of use
By accessing or registering through this portal you agree to these terms.
Last updated: 21 May 2026
1. Acceptance
"Convene" (the portal at this domain) is operated by the National Cybersecurity Coordination Centre (NCCC), Office of the National Security Adviser, Federal Republic of Nigeria. Using any part of this portal — browsing, registering for an event, downloading materials — means you accept these terms in full. If you do not accept them, do not use the portal.
2. Purpose of the portal
Convene exists solely to publish information about, and accept registrations for, official engagements convened by the NCCC and its partners. It is not a public discussion forum, commercial platform, or media-distribution channel.
3. Account & reference code
- You must provide accurate information when registering. Falsified registrations may be cancelled and reported.
- Your reference code (e.g. CONV-XXXX-XXXX) is personal to you and acts as a bearer credential for accreditation.
- You are responsible for keeping your reference code confidential. The NCCC is not liable if a third party uses your code to gain entry.
- Administrative accounts (event managers, reviewers, accreditation officers) are governed by separate written authorisation issued by the NCCC.
4. Acceptable use
You must not:
- Probe, scan, or otherwise attempt to find vulnerabilities in the portal without prior written authorisation.
- Submit data you do not have the right to submit (e.g. registering someone else without their consent).
- Upload content that contains malware, is illegal under Nigerian law, or infringes intellectual property rights.
- Use automated means to scrape or harvest content beyond what is reasonable for individual use.
- Misrepresent your identity, organisation, or relationship with the Office of the National Security Adviser.
5. Content & intellectual property
All event content, agendas, briefing packs, badges, and design elements are the property of the NCCC or its partners and are made available for the personal, non-commercial use of registered delegates only. You may not republish, redistribute, or commercialise this content without prior written permission.
6. Service availability
We aim for high availability but provide the portal "as is", without uptime guarantees. We may suspend the service for maintenance, security response, or operational reasons without prior notice. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from interruptions to the portal.
7. Communications
By registering, you consent to receive event-operational communications by email and SMS (confirmation, approval/rejection, reminders, on-site instructions). These are not marketing messages; you cannot opt out of them while your registration is active, but you may cancel your registration at any time by contacting us.
8. Cancellation & refusal of entry
The NCCC reserves the right to reject any registration, revoke approval, or refuse entry on the day, where this is necessary to protect the security, dignity, or integrity of the event. Decisions taken on national-security grounds are final and not subject to appeal through this portal.
9. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the NCCC, the Office of the National Security Adviser, and the Federal Government of Nigeria from any third-party claims arising out of your breach of these terms or your misuse of the portal.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Disputes that cannot be resolved informally fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
11. Changes
We may update these terms when our practices change or to comply with new legislation. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be highlighted on this page; continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
